What you will be doing in the role of Valve Labourer:
Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Clean valves and valve components using bead blaster, parts washer, and other manual methods
  • Sweep and clean shop floor
  • Clean machine tools
  • Assist valve technicians in valve disassembly, assembly, and testing of valves
  • Paint and palletize valves
  • Load and unload trucks with forklift
  • Yard maintenance
  • Assist Valve Technicians in field service as required
  • Enter valve dimensions and details into computer system
  • Make valve name plates and seal PRV’s
  • Occasional travel to customer sites to support Service Technician team
  • Prepare products for shipping, arrange pickups, track shipments
  • Warehouse/inventory tracking using computer-based tools

Knowledge and skills required for the role:
  • High school diploma required
  • Technician/Technologist College diploma in related field an asset
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Mechanical interest and aptitude  
  • Three (3) years of experience working in an industrial shop or shipping/warehouse environment
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and quality assurance
  • Knowledge of inventory control
  • Computer literacy
  • Competent in the use of hand, and power tools
  • Experience working with forklifts
