What you will be doing in the role of Electrical Designer:
Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Planning, designing, and drafting detailed specifications of electrical systems for process automation including loop drawings, PLC, DCS and Motor Control panels
  • Creating and drafting sketches, and preparing specifications for purchase of materials and equipment
  • Creating electrical design packages including detailed drawings, BOM's, assembly drawings and layouts
  • Providing calculations, creating technical reports, solving technical problems, and is involved in the continuous improvement of design processes
  • Interfacing with Project Managers and Project Engineers to prepare drawings, resolve electrical issues and implement changes as required
  • Preparing final designs and specifications
  • Maintaining design libraries

Knowledge and skills required for the role:
  • University or College Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an Electrical Designer role
  • Proficiency in Modelling/Drafting techniques and standards
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical
  • Demonstrated understanding of engineering theories and principles
  • Ability to prepare designs and specifications for material and equipment needs of electrical
  • Ability to prepare complex schematic drawings from rough sketches, survey data, and oral instructions
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite of Applications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a very schedule sensitive environment
