Lakeside is proud to announce that it has chosen First Robotics Canada (FIRST) as its flagship charity.

The FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) is an annual event where high school students team up with technology companies to build robots in high-intensity competitions.  Students, with the help of volunteer and professional mentors compete to raise funds, design a team brand, and build and program robots to perform tasks against competitors. The competitions combine the excitement of sport with the rigors of science and technology.

At Lakeside we believe that the future of science and technology lies with young people.  By fostering programs like FIRST, students are able to compete, succeed and ultimately be inspired to pursue education and employment in related fields.  We believe that this spark of competition at a young age with FRC will lead to a more innovative future.

First Robotics Canada is a registered charity and a volunteer-led and volunteer-run organization.  For more information visit http://www.firstroboticscanada.org/main/
